Elstead Village Tennis Club looks towards another 30 years of growth!

Elstead Village Tennis Club was formed in 1989 with just two courts and no clubhouse facility, today there are over 500 members, a delightful clubhouse and 5 floodlit courts.

The club prides itself on its wide range of players with different levels of ability with an age range of 3 – 80. As well as providing a full junior coaching programme, the club has adult sessions for rusty rackets, ladies mornings, beginner adults groups and team training. There are also 4 men’s, 3 ladies and 2 mixed teams competing in leagues, a club tournament and social tournaments.

The Head Coach at the club is Jorge Munoz Martin, who has coached junior and senior tour players and was Head Tennis Coach and Davis Cup captain for UAE. Jorge has used his experience to double the number of children in the junior coaching programme in 3 years, with over 200 children participating from beginners through to performance. Currently the club boasts a top twenty 12U, top fifty 14U and top fifty 16U players and in 2018 had their first player to achieve a full scholarship to an American University.

The children at the club have the opportunity to participate in after school and weekend coaching sessions, holiday courses, teams and internal and LTA sanctioned tournaments. The club regularly hosts LTA one day tournaments plus a week-long LTA tournament at the beginning of July.

The club now has five coaches and has forged strong links with local primary and secondary schools through the outreach programme.

After it’s 30th anniversary last year the club is stronger than ever, with the club committee and coaching team striving towards further success in the next 30 years.
