Jack Draper breaks into top 300 ATP rankings with first ITF Title of 2020
Surrey’s Jack Draper won his first ITF title in 2020 in style as he overpowered 4th seed Igor Sijsling, 6-2 6-0. The Dutch player Sijsling has been ranked as high as 52 in the world so this is a great result for Jack. The stats show Jack leading from the front with his serve as he hit eight aces to Sijsling’s one.
This victory at the M25 in Sunderland capped off a successful few weeks in the British ITFs, as Jack had made the final and quarter finals respectively in the previous 2 events. This run of good results means that Jack is now inside the top 300 for the very first time and is expected to have a new career high ATP ranking of 287. Having recently turned 18, the future is bright and hopefully Jack can keep up this progression through the men’s rankings. Only a few years ago, Jack was representing Surrey at Junior County Cup so we hope this inspires the up and coming players to keep practicing hard. Congratulations to Jack on another title and we look forward to seeing what the rest of 2020 has in store for him.
