Resurfacing at New Malden gives courts a new lease of life
In the autumn of 2019, New Malden Sports Club went ahead with the resurfacing of two of their courts. They now have 2 brand new macadam courts, along with updated fencing that has made them playable once again.
Trevor May undertook the work for the club, which also involved increasing the gaps between the courts in order to be in line with LTA specifications. Prior to the project commencing, New Malden put in a successful application for loan funding to help support their plans.
The club now hope that having 2 new courts will better support their existing programmes as well as attract new members. Initial results have been encouraging and with the club celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2022, they hope to enhance their tennis offering further as they reach this milestone. We wish the club well and hope the new courts continue to have a positive impact when the current crisis ends.
